The ECS card website states this:
ELECTRICIANS TRAINED OVERSEAS
Generally, existing qualifications held by the individual will be recognised; however, in all cases, the same scope as the
UK requirements must be demonstrated for the issue of an ECS card. All applicants must also hold the current IET UK
wiring regulations qualification.
In order for overseas qualifications to be recognised the applicant will need to have them mapped against the Level 3
NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical systems and equipment (buildings, structures and the environment). Or
undertake a mature candidate assessment in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Installation - Buildings & Structures).
This assessment is carried out via a professional interview and site assessment/s with a specialist assessor, who will be
able to accredit the applicants existing qualifications and industry experience against the requirements of the relevant UK
qualification.
Anyone trained overseas should first read the
FAQ’s on the website or contact the ECS administration team for specific
information on what qualifications they need for their application.
