I work in the fire and security industry. Have been for 10 years.

What I will say is this industry is absolutely blowing up right now and the demand for people who are good at this sort of work is crazy. More or less every single company is desperate for people.

A lot of companies recognise this, and really look after their best lads to try and stop them from jumping elsewhere. I will personally go weeks or months without even speaking to my boss, because he knows I like being left alone.

3 years isnt a huge amount of experience but I expect it will be enough for most companies, if you don't like your job then there is no point in staying as it will be very easy for you to find something else.
 
If I wasn’t in the position of buying a flat I would of jumped ship. You’ve got to love some of the people you work with. One of the ones today was it’s okay for our alarm panel to work from a switched FCU to a unswitched FCU as long as it’s spurred from the live side! 🤯

I just didn’t have the heart to tell him that he was talking absolute rubbish.
