Evening All,
Strange one so after a bit of advice. Got called to a customer this evening who had their boiler repaired after the circuit board got fried supposedly after a power cut when the supply was restored. They were told they needed a switch fused spur fitted as there was no way of isolating the boiler. I turn up to fit sfcu and notice that the supply to boiler is via a 1mm three core and earth. The supply is from 32 amp mcb with Rcd as main switch on Tt. I told the client I am not going to fit fcu until I have investigated a little further as cable is undersized and there must be a jb somewhere. while I was there downstairs lights on 2 separate 6 amp mcb start flickering Intermittently. Being Fri night i am going back sat to get the trusty tester out. Has anyone had this happen before or any suggestions what could cause the flickering. My gut is saying there Is an underlying fault that may have caused the boiler failure Not the power cut.
thank you
