Hi all,

So my factory needs more power, currently 100A/3p (70KVA) => 400A/3p (200KVA)

UKPN wont upgrade existing supply and are insisting on new supply, not a problem as such and is ordered.
They are specifying a CT Meter will be required, again not a particular surprise.

What I cannot fathom though is nobody we can find will install a meter (a couple will do so as an upgrade but this is a new installation).
(not entirely true British Gas is the only company we have found that will do this, but the tariff they quoted is mental even by todays prices and will result in a bill bigger than the MPAN!)

A quick Google says I can literally buy a meter for <£300! But I assume this is not an option of course.

As this is bigger power than I am used to, can somebody help with providers that will install a new meter, either just as a meter or quoting for a tariff too?

thanks.

I hope this is not a trend by our energy companies....... a 200KVA supply is pretty standard for larger commercial . Are you sure you are talking to the right part of the energy suppliers, i.e. Larger Business customers, not Domestic./small commercial as , as far as i am aware meters above 100A need to be CT driven.
