Hi Guys,

SSE are telling me my feed in tariff is for generation and deemed export. I have an R read and a T read on utility meter. The T read is Total import and the R is export. They have told me I have to pay for all electricity that runs through the meter on the T reading - this includes the export.
Is this right? As far as I can see, 50% of the generation is deemed as export. So am I paying for export and receiving 50% of that export?

Total import is what you would normally pay for from the supplier.

export is what you generate and sell back to the grid. When you fill in your feed in tariff meter readings, it’s the export R you give them.

The meter knows what electric is being brought in from the grid, and what is being put back out and will stop counting on the other one.

Hi,

Thank you. They tell me they need the generation reading, as my tariff is generation and "deemed export". With regards to the utility meter - they take the T reading, which I have been told is Total plus the R? Whereas my current supplier deducts the R from the T. My fit is with sse. I'm sorry if I'm not explaining this correctly.
