Hi people. ... New extension install, and the studs will be packed with 140mm of celotex! How would it stand if a 50mm gap was chased in the celotex all round the cable so as not to de-rate it ridiculously. (2.5mm ring circuits). Whats the standard procedure here...upsize the cable? Thanks in advance :cheesy::cheesy:

Interesting question. If its not touching anything by 50mm all around does that classify it as in 'free-air', or is it no worst than being in conduit/trunking? How is it going to be supported?

Yeah agree, prob go for the 20amp mcb. Wall insulation thicknesses are surely going crazy!! What next 300mm celotex!:banghead: Thanks for the replys anyway.
