I have the wonderful task of laying conduit in trenches for fibre connectivity to about 60 odd buildings, wonderful !!!!

Well I say conduit more like 4" drain pipe but you get the drift. So just one morning into the job and my lads come to me, sir we have found this. Off I go and here it is, a repaired comms cable done by..........

Notice the IP rated placcy bag used as weather proofing. Just as I arrive so also the client, and after much muttering and shaking of heads we are now tasked to repairing all joints found, including HV and LV, of course as part of the contract.

This is just the 1st 600 odd yards of about 40 odd km of trenching. Don't you just love being the sod in charge!!!!

That is entirely the wrong sort of bag for weatherproofing, everyone knows Marks and Spencer bags are much better than pound shop!

I hope the "of course as part of the contract" actually missed out "of course as part of the additional cost now added to the contract"

Well a week on and here is the end result. We had to wait until yesterday to start the repair as the cable was for an office block. So here are the joints

And here it is sealed (Hmmmmmm ignore the rubbish as my lads seem to think it's a backfill)
