Those are examples of bad workmanship, not to be confused with a good solid connector block joint that it taped rather than inside a jbThat's why it can never be trusted......it probably is DIY

Ah...but not as far as those who did it.....and that's part of the reason for having the 'rules'.Those are examples of bad workmanship, not to be confused with a good solid connector block joint that it taped rather than inside a jb
So if those examples in your photos were in a jb that would be fine?? You are talking about bad workmanship not what i am talking about???Ah...but not as far as those who did it.....and that's part of the reason for having the 'rules'.
I know what you mean, though.
Yup. And how uninsulated 11,000 volt cables dangled alongside roads and over peoples’ gardens.Don't worry, in 20 or 30 years people will be laughing at the way dangerous 230volt cables were run all over houses and hidden in walls and floors.
Years ago, loads of people did it... but we, as all good sparks, always used Ashley joint boxes. Mind you, even those are frowned on these MF days......some find them and say how terrible they are....but there was no alternative and if fitted correctly, what's the problem?
