Lego technic batmobile from the recent film.
Moving pistons, steering and plastic “flames” that spin out the back.

Comes with the “light brick” which has been around in Lego sets for quite a while, but this is my first set with them.

This one’s a bit of a monster, and an online competition prize… (woohoo, I never win anything!)

Brand new released set… only came out 1st August.

Airbus rescue helicopter. Load of new parts… new sized gears, new colour in the neon yellow and a new battery pack for the motors… (new, in as much as same design as some others but without Bluetooth control)

Through gears, motor powers the winch on the side, the landing gear and the rotors have two speeds.

Other manual functions are opening cockpit doors, sliding passenger doors, sliding engine covers and a bunch of levers that control the angle of the rotors, and the pitch of the rotor axis… seemingly just like the real thing.

Oops. Win another competition last night. Prize in a few days….

Big tow truck from 2017.
Motorised with remote control. Through the gearbox selection there is forward/reverse and steering…. Stability legs extend and retract…. Crane jib rotation, and lifting …… and crane winch rope.
Also has moving pistons, suspension and opening doors/ bonnet.

Very blocky design, but I like the teddy bear on the front. I had a spare bear, so doubled it up.

Ford Raptor pickup.
I don’t know why, but this one gets a lot of hate from a Lego technic Facebook group.

It’s got steering, moving engine pistons, suspension.
Ok, maybe it could be fitted with a front winch, and the headlights be clear parts instead of stickers..

And the colour!

Little Facebook marketplace purchase. Might trigger some folks on here though.

Brought out a couple years back to celebrate Pride month… A rainbow of colours to match the Pride flag.
Due to the subject matter, this is actually sold as an 18+ set…. It’s just bricks, plates and a load of mini figures…

I got it just as a collectors display piece.

And last night, won a gin hamper… oops!

Decided to build this one up recently, as I’ve ended up with a double…

Lego Friends…. But not the separate Lego Friends theme aimed at young girls.. (daughter had about 10 of those sets, so if I run out… I’ll start using hers)

No… Friends as in the TV program. This is the “Central Perk” coffee shop scene, but there’s also the apartments sets.

“How you doin’?”

I saw a 'Friends' set a few days ago. My son suggested I buy it. I told him in no uncertain terms where he could stick it. I'm not a fan!

It was never my first choice to be honest… and the repeats of the programme are very dated now…
I thought it might have increased in value a little after last years reunion, the release of the apartments set and the Gunther actors passing, but no.

I’ve still got a duplicate to sell on if you’re interested.??

A clue to the set I’m getting as a comp prize.

This is a Grand Prix car from 2013… set number 42000. Possibly the flagship set of that year.

Has front and rear suspension, steering and moving pistons.
Addition function is the gear wheel at the side that either opens the engine bay, or tilts the aerofoil at the back.

And the prize itself.
Took a couple days to build, just as I was working away yesterday.

The Maclaren F1 race car.
Not as functional as 42000 above, but still has steering, suspension and moving pistons.

Too. Many. Stickers!

So that’s 3 Lego sets, a dashcam and a gin hamper. So far.

Went to Ripon on Saturday and managed to drop on these sets in 2 different secondhand shops. Well chuffed.

can i have the two top ones pretty please????

I've been wanting the top one for ages but it commands too high a price normally. It was the first technic set my dad ever bought. I've already got the bits and tatty instructions, but always wanted a good boxed set.

I got them all for £88. And the lego is like brand new - really clean and shiny. Only had to take 10 parts from my own stock to make them all complete.

My latest from FB.

Went to pick up the crane for £30 and he threw in the 4x4 for another 20.
Missing a few parts, including the remote control for the car.

Popped in to look at a job today….

“Excuse the Lego…. You wouldn’t think my son was 22 years old!”

You wouldn’t think I was 48 either……

Started on the new mini figure bags… got 7 out of 12 so far. Have a seasonal theme about them… turkey costume, snowman, nutcracker… sugar plum fairy…
Photo to follow when I get them all.

I found a Lego store E. Voucher in my email junk from a family member for my birthday back in July.… £30…

So the ISS is on its way in the post.

On its way, and surprisingly delivered today!

Happy afternoon..

Includes itty bitty space shuttle and a couple of micro figure astronauts….

11 out of 12 now for the new collectible mini figures… just missing the snowman, so I think it’ll have to be sourced on eBay now.

This is a fb marketplace purchase. Set 42080. Stripped down, cleaned and rebuilt this past week.
Motor turns a cam that pumps up the pneumatics, which either lift the arms, or open/close the log gripper at the front.

Steering is front wheels and the articulated body.
Cab and arms can also rotate manually.

Got this one from same source as the logger above.
One of the large scale motorbikes… this one from 2017, and has the 40 year printed brick underneath.

Completed series 23.

Snowman came from eBay this morning… so that’s 12/12. Seasonal theme includes nutcracker, thanksgiving turkey man and a dragon… for some reason.

Managed to get this for £40 on ebay because it had a couple of small pieces missing. Very good set.

20221110_160202.jpg

one of my recent acquisitions, @DPG. Looks like you have the same shelves as me too.

I got the book, and the sticker sheet with one sticker still to put on... Only used on the B model though.

Built this one the other day. Very good set considering it's from the 1970s. And no special parts.

20221122_195215.jpg

Did you clean it?

Any of my 40 year old parts are faded, cracked, and possibly tooth marked.

No cleaning at all. This is one of 3 sets I bought together and all 3 have bricks that are like new. They even click together like new lego. Must have barely been used.

Some of the blue engine bricks have darkened slightly for some reason - I might get a few replacements for these.

I haven't done any competitions for a while, so the other day... i thought, heck its christmes... entered a few.

Guess what's coming in the next week or so... hopefully before xmas so i can hide it.

OP.jpg

How do you win so many? Are you the only one who bothers to enter?

My surname, Birch, has a tartan but wasn't registered until '93 so not a real clan.

Taking the opportunity while wife and kids are away to clean out the garage…. So this lot is in dining room for the meantime…… another smaller pile behind me….

Nice!
I can just see the front end of one of my favourite sets there - the 8860 car chassis.

Set up this morning for this exhibition…
Added a few things to their Star Wars display, but the black shelves are all mine.

They also had a Harry Potter theme, a couple of basic city layouts, big Disney castle…
I suppose I could have taken much more, but they would have needed another room.

Whoops. That escalated quickly…..

I bought the Bugatti Bolide when it was on a Tesco club card special…. £27 instead of £45.
Built it, and hidden away on the shelf so the wife doesn’t see….

Last week, it was on their clearance shelf… £25. So I bought another one…..

Wife came back from shopping yesterday….
“Look what I got you…. It was a good price, and last on the shelf. You said you wanted it!”

IMG_3812.jpeg

Also got a bag from eBay with the majority of a second 8860 and 8848 in it
