what should it show when you switch it on after it tells you the battery power , mine says 1volt , should it say 0volts

it should say 0V. but make sure it's not close to any electrical equipment that could induce a stray 1V.

i bought it second hand and its always said 1v so i put it in for calibration and it still says 1v , cost me effin 96 quid aswell

Yep I hand mines into Scott Copps Edinburgh and collect it next day good service for £60

JPS Calibration Services Ltd on ebay do it for £34.99 . They got good feed back on ebay. I have it done locally but just saying.
