Trying to get the daughter's old VW Beetle Cabriolet (2003 plate) back on the road and need to replace a couple of fuses. Problem is that all the modern day standard fuses appear to be different in terms of the blade shapes. The ones in the VW are shaped like "maxi" fuses and have no notches in them like today's standards so they fit but only loosely so no good.

How do I get hold of the fuse types I need ? Do they have a name so that I can search for them ?

There are blades and mini blades. Do you have a photo, ideally with something (a 50p coin?) for size reference?

Will get some shortly. The current standard fuses are the same size but the shape of the blades are different to what I need.

Here are the fuses with an example of the fuse/blade shape on left (blue one !), a standard modern replacement centre and a Bosch fuse right that looked a possibility but as with the other modern fuse is loose in the fuse slot. Have tried several empty slots and they are loose in all of them so clearly are not the same as the existing fuses.

Have you tried your VW dealer, they should have spare fuses in stock.
