We have had our first phone call about a damaged panel.
System been in well over 18months. Glass shattered on Sanyo HIT 250 panel.
Has anyone had this yet and just wondering the best place to start the process of replacing with new.

Thanks in advance

surely , it's a matter for home insurance. stone dropped by low flying seagull.

This is one of the problems being faced now, according to our supplier Panasonic are no longer producing this panel, so where we all be in a few years when we need stocks etc.

We've just inspected over 3000 panels across variuos sites and one of them had 2 panels broken with shattered glass, we inspected the same site last summer, not broken then... We also did full string tests, Voc, Isc, Resistance etc, and the string output hasn't been measurably impaired yet.

Couldn't see any 'bird' damage (dropped stones etc) nor did there appear to be any undue stressing of the frames. Cause? Still a mystery.

Sourcing replacement isn't the issue for us, the real question is why / how ...

All the panesl we've installed so far use toughened glass, not aware of any that don't.

Installed in the Hot summer of 11 (remember shorts teeshirts and sun block :) :) ), with additional expansion gaps, so not expansion, and contraction has opened up the gaps further, so not that..
