pyro
twisting flex strands and getting it stuck in your finger
cheap screws where the heads snap off
tangling leads on test meter
croc clips that come off everything you clip them on
amtech's last 2 packages/updates
bosses that pester u when your on leave

CPC's twisted together is bad enough, but when people use the same sleeving for several CPC's AND twist them together still...really does F'ing annoy me - especially when muppets do it on the ring at the DB - niceone for testing nob'eds.

Manufactures that waste endless amounts of screws - the one's they provide with the light fittings and other accessories - they should realise nobody ever uses them, so why bloody make them. Wasting money and materials.

General poor workmanship - not cutting trunking square/to length really annoys me. Half-arseing in general. Seems these days very few have pride in their work, it's such a shame. I do alot of caravan work. and see flex's flung absolutley everywhere, have these people not heard of clips.

Customers who don't understand / don't take 'no not possible' for an answer. Customers who demand the most complex of jobs for the cheapest of price - because they don't care about the regs and because bob the butcher from down the road has said he would do it for half the price.

Plumbers.

Trunking lids missing in mains rooms and plant rooms. If they were ever there to start with then where do they go??
Also lids barely held on to the trunking cos either the turnbuckles have worn or broken. If all else fails, use self tappers rather than leaving it hanging off.

Where do they go? They are 'borrowed' by people who don't believe cable rods exist to fish cables through places. "Oh look, they've left us some clip-on cable rods, how kind!"

Trying to push a Marbo 45A pull switch with two 10mm Twins in up to a cheap 25mm surface box. Last little push and then it went crack! Oh dear I told my mate never to take that pull cord down ever ever again and that's what he gets for buying cheap crap! Before you all say I always buy the Crabtree ones!

Having to work in a hotel kitchen: "ooh you can't do it between midnight and 23:59, we're open then, mind the gravy on the floor, don't get dust in my soup, get out of the way we're trying to cook, you've just grated asbestos into my canapés, I need to get to the fridge, how long is it going to be off, why has the power gone off? Couldn't you do it some other time?"

Why's the power off? Because nothing is EFFING LABELED and the board is a mess!

(this happens to be the same board that I believe suffered the lost neutral discussed here: http://www.electriciansforums.net/e...09-suppliers-neutral-break-2.html#post6743005 )

Screwdriver where mag is not quiet strong enough to hold screw in horizonatal position, but same screwdriver over eager to collect filings from all over the place, really does my head in.
Anybody know how to de-mag a screwdriver
Just bang it on any surface, one of grandfathers words of wisdom, also did you know one of the 3 spots on a coconut is soft

A. Cable's that are to short.
B. Customer's that dont know the difference between a quality job or a dog rough one. Or dont care.
C. Junction boxes.
D. Stopping for a red light at a pedestrian crossing, and no one is there, then you see the inconsiderate nob freely strolling along twenty metres down the road.:33:

kids tend to do that longboat

my pet hate was gavin,. a cock-sure boy, when explaining a job to him he would look away and say"ave doon thousands of them" in a really stupid yorkshire accent then completly muck- it up

Pet hates: This forum - I meant to go to bed an hour ago as I've got an early start tomorrow, but instead I've been reading about Lofty Awards and people arguing about separating switches and whether software developers can kill people!

Suspended ceiling that hasnt been earthed so the static doesnt build up, coupled with itchy fibre glass tiles
excerpt from an electricians tricks of the trade thing i have:

Anti-itch Remedy For Insulation: How often do you have to work in an attack or lay in ceilingthat has insulation? Well, there is a remedy that will keep the itch a way. Take a bottle of babypowder or corn starch and apply it to your hands, arms, neck and a face (be carefull not to get inyour eyes). The powder protects your skin from the insulation and prevents the irritation and
itching

People who write all over nice new site drawings especially when they are the only set

People who leave empty boxes of stuff in the stores such as rawlplugs and grommets.Throw the ****ing boxes away so we can see we are running out!!!!!!!!!!

think he meant the cardboard side, making it impossible to unreel.

D really gets me too. I think it should be made legal that you can get out of your car drag them back by their neck and force them to re cross when the green man comes on again.

Slow punctures due to screws/nails in tyres after leaving a site strewn with crap.
Had 3 in a week not long ago.

only ever had 2 punctures and 1 blowout in my life. 1st puncture didn't happen until I'd been driving for more than 5 years!

cant you put in a claim against them?...
their labourers should`v kept a path clear for vans..

Not viable really. Regular customers, factory site and usually OK. Probably from stores/delivery area - odd damaged pallets and such. Got small repairs done for next to nowt. Just a pain in the ---.

Here's one from today: on a kitchen re-wire me leaving all the light cables in the multi-gang switch so I can disconnect them in order and note down what does what, but no, the builder has hacked them all off (not that he needed to anyway) so now I have about 10 1mm t+e's which all look the same and no clue as to which one does what. What a pain in the cod-piece...

Its a wooden floor, so I'll have to think of something else. I would leave a dead fish under it, but it already smells like one from a dishwasher that has been leaking into it for years. I might set fire to his van, or it that a bit OTT?

Put some bits of non smelly fish (frozen bits will work) in the heater intake on his van. It will take a short while for them to go off. Make sure you do not smell of the evidence.

1.Twisted Earths,
2. dodgy threads on metal back boxes,
3. that horrible cellophane and foil inside some brands of FP200,
4. cheap soft brass terminal screws on switches/sockets etc.
5. snapping small terminal screwdrivers cos I'm too lazy to get the bigger one out of my toolbox!

anything made in china because I know it will fall apart
