Hello,

I am a (non-electrician) newbie on this forum. I was hoping that you clever folks might be able to give me some advice on how to wire a PIR light for my front porch.

The PIR light has two settings. The first is activated by the sensor. The second is flicking on a light switch inside the house which results in the light being turned on permanently.

I have drawn a diagram which shows the wires that I have. I'd be grateful for any advice on how to connect these. Thank you in advance.

Sorry but I think you should enlist the assistance of an electrician to do this for you as on your drawing it appears you have the switch lives connected to the earthing terminal.

Apologies, drawing is not my strong point. In the diagram, the wires from the two cables are meant to be unconnected. I was just trying to show what wires I have. The terminal block is part of the PIR light and is connected to the PIR sensor and light bulb. The earth from the terminal block is screwed into body of the PIR light.

I'm looking for some advice on which connector blocks to put the wires from the two cables into. Thank you in advance.

What does the manual say on how to wire it up? It must show the wiring.

You need to be sure that you know which wires do what.
There is no indication that the switch wire is correctly connected to the switch.
All the earth connections (green and yellow) should be connected together in the earth terminal.

This instruction manual shows wiring for a manual override arrangement and has similar connections.
If you are not sure how to do this then providing internet assistance may risk injury to you and is to be avoided.
