PVC conduit into metal clad consumer unit

I'm assuming this is a no no now under amendment 3 unless the consumer unit is in an outbuilding etc?

Why do you think this? Yes you can use pvc conduit or trunking into a metal consumer unit. As long as you maintain the ip rating
