Has anyone got any good tips/ methods for removing plastic screw covers from face plates without damaging the caps, or is it best to destroy them and fit new ones? Thanks
 
A brand new Stanley knife. Put the tip in one edge and out they pop.
Sometimes there are sparea in the back of the switch/socket.

IMO they look better without the caps:29:
