I'd disconnect the 13A sockets each side of the CU and then measure R2 end to end from each socket. One test round the ring. The other test to and from the CU. With the CU CPCs for the RFC still disconnected at the CU.
That should give a sensible remainder of ring R2 and isolate the issue in the cables going to and from the CU.
You may need a wander lead of course.

Extended most of the circuits from old 3036 board to new board and used a box with din top hat mounted creating a huge earth bus bar in effect felt a right prat
Long as nobody else is in the place, to trip over it or slam the door on it
Maybe you could add this to the never have i ever thred , we have all done some silly things in the past , at least what you have done is not dangerous and you found what was coursing your low reading before you stripped the installation down back to its component parts .Extended most of the circuits from old 3036 board to new board and used a box with din top hat mounted creating a huge earth bus bar in effect felt a right prat
Was just getting to that Flanders was taking all the sockets off ! Oh dear, any better ways to extend cables to new boards without din rail would be a go ! Ha ha, just wanted a secure connection rather than box of wagos or crimps! As customer didn't want to go full rewire, would've been far easier and more cost effective.Maybe you could add this to the never have i ever thred , we have all done some silly things in the past , at least what you have done is not dangerous and you found what was coursing your low reading before you stripped the installation down back to its component parts .
