I'm not sure what's up but I went to use my SmartPAT 5500 (yeah, a bit old but still good) and.. it won't boot up.. the LCD screens top row is just turns on black.. that's it. I've checked all the fuses (well, the plug and the internal one i know about) but can't figure it out. LCD connection seams fine. The only thing that isnt connected up is the Floppy drive ribbon cable cause they got a bit damaged and I wasn't using it anyway.. from what I can figure out, it doesnt stop working just cause it can't detect the floppy drive so.. I'm a little stuck.. I can't really send it off for repair cause I don't think Robin still support it (is the company still going?) and it's pretty heavy..

Doubt I'll get any comments but the problem is a processor fried. I think it was a programmable processor meaning it needs it's code IF I was able to get a replacement. Robin in the UK appear to have closed up shop in 2010 and the only company using the Robin Electronics LTD name appears to be a Chinese holding company who don't reply to messages, so I believe (linked with the crap website) are probably defuncted too. But I can't really find a service manual, probably cause they didn't want people to service it (even though it's pretty serviceable for people that kinda need it).
