Doorway turned into an archway, houseowner had lighting off as they were changing switches around so nothing was noticed at the time, but also the cpc to this new metal switch (unseen) wasn't connected to earth. End result switch front plate live 230v, exposed plasterers mesh at bottom of the archway 230v. Few shocks received by a few people, myself included.
Is this a common thing to see from plasterers with their nails?

A plasterer got a live wall after skimming over one of my fan isolator boxes. Cables were choccy blocked and taped up but he still managed to get enough muck in there to give himself a tingle

I'd put money on him 'hammering' the cable flat as well, seen a plasterer do that once. He was plastering a room i hadnt first fixed yet.... Slowly & methodically started to pack up.... The message trickled through & he decided to call the gaffer
