Hi everyone

I have 2 x 250 litre unvented indirect DHW cylinders. The primary heat source is the oil fired boiler, but both cylinders have backup immersion heaters. Currently, only one of them is connected - it has a dedicated circuit with a 16a mcb and a DP switch. The cable is massive - obviously the circuit was repurposed at some point - the entire run is 10mm up to the switch, with high temperature flex to the heater.

Having only 1 tank heated is pointless - if for any reason the boiler isn't working, the hot water from the working cylinder gets blended with water from the potentially stone cold cylinder next to it. I could fit valves to only draw off the working cylinder of necessary, but I can't think of a simple way of automating this and it's in an outhouse which isn't convenient for access especially at 11 pm in December which is of course the most likely time for things to break.

My question is - can I power 2 immersions from the existing circuit?
