Discuss The DPC of the draft 18th edition of BS 7671 in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net
It's presumably because risk assessments are getting used for purposes like this that they are scrapping the exemption. So where we can currently get away with not installing RCD's on RFC's in offices powering computers etc because of nuisance tripping... in the next version of BS7671 this won't be the case?
We are still working to the 17th though, I say lets wait and see, it's early days yet, no good preempting the IET they change their mind just like my Wife.Yep the exemptions have now been deleted in the 18th draft.
Realise that Middy but many mistakes has been made by preempting. We shall see Pete, but that's whats penned in at the mo.
So install more circuits (on new installs) to limit the amount earth leakage on each RCD.
Or cheat and put RCD sockets on each outlet?
Should be fun.
