Sadly, as if to prove my point.

A 70 year old man from my locality committed suicide last night.

He couldn't adopt to retirement, he actually came out of retirement for a while. He left behind his wife and family.

He was the brother of a famous NI goalkeeper.

You are right SWD, but unfortunately some people just can't cope.
Thats sad, but you need to make plans, have hobbies and things to do, my old Lotus mechanic couldn't wait as he got himself an allotment.

I also worked at LUL for a while and they had a health centre that would advise and help you when you came up for retirement to make the transition easier.

Its like when my kids have kids I am moving 200 miles away f3ck looking after the little sh1tes I see how miserable these grand parents are nowadays ;o)))))

A lot of married graters I've known have snuffed it not long into their retirement. I dread having to spend a moment longer than necessary getting nagged but dying to get away from it seems a little extreme.

thethought of having a lie in and getting up at 09.30 to the jeremy kyle show just makes carrying on working so much more attractive.

Ach, how much do you need to retire?
I went early, supplement the meagre funds with some domestic landlord stuff, PA Testing and legionella risk assessment, and no worries, no daily commute, set the timetable round my golf and tennis and work on the Men's Shed...it's not a dress-rehearsal, so enjoy life in the slow lane, yet keep up to date...
and try to keep off the beers 'til 5pm!
After all, in the words of that great song...
"It's 5 o'clock somewhere!"

it's that long ago i last did some micc, i'd probably struggle with it now. think the only pot i'll see now is the one on the mantlepiece with my ashes in it..

it'sOK pete, he realises. don't get your knickers in a twist. :D:D:D.
Don't you mean "pampers"?

Could have done with those Thursday as I had a nice salty pant line which emerged on my black trousers.
Telectrix: You are a credit to us all, keep going , this heat is unusual. BS7671 warning label needed on 1553 "in case of owner not breathing set to 1000v IR on sensitive parts"

Tel, This is not the end, It is not even the begining of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the begining.
it's never the end. death is just a hindrance, a hiccup in the meaning of life ( copyright monty python).
