NICEIC Certification Scheme Todays find from a so called NICEIC Approved Contractor

Hi,

The sister in law owns a beauty salon, she moved into it 3 and a half years ago, and when she did, it was gutted to 4 walls and rewired from the ground up.

Take a look at these photos, the owner of the building got his so called Electrician mates in to rewire the place when it was done. I am going to be doing a few bits next week, so just thought id scope the place out.

This is what I found anyway... nice isn't it! Oh there's an NICEIC AC sticker on the front that was filled in at the time.

One of the main light circuits was also non RCD protected...

Yep indeed I do, I actually saw them doing some of it when I popped in. It used to be a post office, it had a new floor, all new partition walls, taken back to brick. The person who owned the building insisted his mates did it.

You can see on the label it says 27/09/10

I can probably even dig you out some photos of them doing it.

The cobwebs, the place is very clean and tidy, I guess it's got spiders in there because there's huge holes on the front!

Judgeing by those pics he may have actually been an air conditioning guy

My local CEF sells red NICEIC stickers!

I have been told who did it and checked them out and they do appear to be on the niceic AC list, I didn't just base it on a red sticker.

It's a necessary compromise to let the spider in and out!

Well that's true.

There was brown sleaving on some switches, not all, all very cheap fittings, poor quality, actually nasty.

I managed to temporarily move the non rcd protected lights to the rcd side, just doubled it up for a min.

I pulled the left hand rcd out but could seem to move it to ithe left due to these red stopper things in the busbar slot at the bottom.
