In order to tidy up some of my stuff things got moved around. Our big dog is getting bigger. Still growing. I think he now weighs about 80lbs. He not a small dog.
He socialises well with other dogs. (And people!)
In the big park today, we met a St Bernard. Bloody huge beast. Made Max look Min..........
Barney, the St Bernard.
The owner was reluctant to let Barney off the lead being a bit fearful that he could hurt our relatively small dog. I convinced her that it would be just fine. So she did.
Max, far from being intimidated by difference in size just took to him. They romped around for quite a while. It was quite amusing in a way. A galloping race horse and a lumbering cart horse is probably the best way I can describe it. Most importantly, they got along. Barney, for all his bulk, seems to have a beautiful benign nature. A big friendly boy. And just six months old.......
Good looking dog.View attachment 31150This is sally , she's 11and half now , we have had her side about one , she was a rescue dog..
We have always had rescue dogs and my wife used to do voluntary work at the local RSPCA centre , we would like to have them all if we could...
Good for you.
All my dogs were rescue dogs, I can't face getting another one though after my last one.
Our handsome beast came from a rescue centre. He has turned out to be a joy. Maybe it's a combination of nature and nurture. And maybe we just got plain lucky. If I had money it would be my full time job.
Not just dogs , all animals that needed a home.

Anyway I've been thinking about volunteering to help there as a little bit of payback. I might have done so already since I have time - I retired a couple of months ago - but a bit of ill health has delayed that.
Here's a picture of him trying to decide if he wants to read about racing or fuses.......
Thank you for your kind words. It is a lot of the way you treat them, They are not daft , they know nice people:smile5:.
I am pleased You are considering helping out . It will be very worthwhile. I take my hat of to you.
There should be more like you, the world would be a better place.
In my own way I try and help the wildlife around here, we have a wide variety , especially song and hedgerow birds.
Not being able to much lately I get great pleasure trying to keep them safe, and also keep the poachers at bay.
PS. We have similar interests.
