Funnily enough I was taught how to solder joints like these in my Apprenticeship at Bath Technical College can even recall the Lecturer's name Mr Ed Woodward ( no not the original Equaliser) a Great Guy sadly gone now, was an inspiration during the EIW ( Electrical Installation Works) courses EIW B1 B2 B3 C1 and C2 not 5 weeks and that's it, you're a Sparky.
Showing your age @Pete999 , thats been closed for many a year. its plain bath college now, merged with radstock college. They have just moved construction courses to a new fancy building in radstock and there is no guarantee they will continue to run the electrical 2365 courses. which is a shame. do however run one of if not the best stone masonry courses in the country... people move from all over world to do that one and it makes them a fortune!Bath Technical College

What's happened to the old building now then? how can it be Bath College in Radstock?Showing your age @Pete999 , thats been closed for many a year. its plain bath college now, merged with radstock college. Not quite sure about old buildings, but think its now part of hayesfield girls school. Radstock college had money issues so bath effectively took it over and changed from city of bath to plain bath college with 2 campuses. they have just built the new construction skills building on an industrial estate to centralise stuff and be able to sell of some of the prime real estate they own in bath city centre. What's happened to the old building now then? how can it be Bath College in Radstock?
It's all just a but a name now and a distant memory (happy I hope)What's happened to the old building now then? how can it be Bath College in Radstock?
Its all about branding and maximising revenue, bath effectively took over the other and used their brand as radstock had an awful reputation. The old radstock campus is still there but one of the bath college buildings is being eyed up for turning into fancy city centre hotel. Its a bit like all these uni's and colleges now lending their name to other campuses and raking in profit. It's all just a but a name now and a distant memory (happy I hope)
You were lucky...i was waxing fids, and sexing chicks...Oh the joys of stripping 25 core data cable and soldering 25 way D Type connectors one after the other as well as crimping BNC ends on to coax for the screen feeds in dealing rooms then triple coax came in for colour systems............. even more joy.
