x10 lighting

hi
has anyone wired, installed an x10 lighting system?
been told that the lighting circuit needs to be wired in a ring rather than a radial?
just wondered wether there is any truth to this and why you would do it?

Data transfer , but X10 is as old as the hills, if you want something cheap , reliable and retro fit look at Rako

to be truthfully honest mate im not 100% sure hows it going to work myself
done by sending a signal down the lighting feed cable to an X10 box which switches the light on remotely

X10 is a type of protocol transmitted around your mains wiring, not just for lights, very very problematic !!
Rako is not cheap, and needs to be programmed properly to benefit from such a system.
Both rako and lutron are very very good, fitted loads of the stuff and even have it throughout my house
