Has anyone heard of these?
Apparently you place them in a backbox after a first fix ready for tiling so the tiler cuts the tiles properly.
Have looked online and cant seem to find anything?
Thanks
Hello
This is my fist post so go easy please.
I am using an Ashley J803 maintenance free junction box to join 2 2.5mm T&E cables. There is no other option but to create a join due to access issues, so it is unavoidable. It is under the subfloor on the ground floor so access will be limited...
Evening,
Anyone know the book/industry times for chopping 1g & 2g 35mm back boxes in concrete block and then fixing . All using power tools.
I know how long it would take me! But will be subbies... My luckins doesnt list it and my old spons only has chopping by hand times which I reckon my mum...

As some of you know, I'm doing a first fix for family member. I now know that in a modern house its best to do loop method of wiring from switch to switch due to modern day down lighters and light fittings only accepting one cable. I did have a thought though (bear with me) as there are 3 x...

I have just used 11 of these boxes with SWA terminations
They are awful and I dont want someone else to have the same problems I did.
They seem ok, quite sturdy and the price attracts you, however one or two of the screws snapped when doing up the front cover and then MANY more snapped when...
Hi Guys, Another little query for those of you that do new house installs. Not practical nowadays to wire light circuits via loop in systems due to modern day downlight recessed fittings and or light fittings designed for 1 cable!
If using joint boxes, lets say in a roof space, therefore...
Hiya Guys,
I hope there is someone out there who can answer my problem. I'll do my best to explain my situation.
Right then - I have been given the task by my employer to test/inspect some Distribution boxes.
(Here is a link from a random web site I found showing the boxes - Electrical...
I've been asked to look into this for a project where the client is specifying an IP rating for equipment within the meter box. I know that there have been numerous discussions on siting additional equipment within the meter box other than the service cut out and the meter and possibly an...
Just bought the dewalt toughsystem set up with the trolley, I'm fed up with lugging my tools to and from the van when parking a mile away in London. Anyone used the system before it seems to have good reviews, and I read about it on here be for when it was new to the market but just wondered if...
Hi,
We have just bought a flat that was built in the 60s. We had three sparks coming to the property and looked at the electrical systems as we wanted to install new storage heaters in the bedrooms. The indication we got is that the main circuit in the flat has not been changed since the 60s...

I'm going to ask what might sound dumb coming from someone of my age and experience, I don't do much now and have done very little in the way of domestic installations, having spent much of my time on commercial or industrial work, thats not to say I don't know how to install domestic electrical...
Is there an alternative to fast fix boxes? I've just fit a screw less flat plate socket to one and can see the fast fix box!
metal ko box on a noggin isn't an option as it's an existing drywall!
Hi, my friends got a spa bath and wants it wired in. I was thinking of running some 10mm t&e under the bath into a ip65 junction box, then into the pump underneath. I can't find anything in the regs or part p which says anything about this so could to with some advice. Also would need some type...
anyone know if theres such a thing as a 20mm pvc conduit box that is threaded so that you can screw stuffing glands into them , like the galv ones but pvc
First post here, but looking for assistance please.
I've been asked to look into repairing some existing office trunking, whilst also adding a new socket circuit into the same.
I have not been able to travel to look at the job (its a long way away), and the client has sent me some photos of...

Not something we normally get involved in installing, but, we have a long straight run of galv conduit to install (approx) 60 mtrs. Would this require any sort of expansion joint?
