    RCBO trip.

Got a large rewire ongoing at the minute. Owner wants to use current sockets alongside the new board as he’s living in one part of the house whilst the builders are in. Today the old supply was disconnected and whilst cutting through an old cable not connected to any of my new legs the RCBO...

On the search for mk rcbo.....

....To fit old Sentry board. Present board has 80A, 30mA RCD mainswitch, and it’s a 16 way board!! I can’t get all circuits to stay on all at once. Have to leave any one of 3 lighting circuits off for rcd to hold. Individually they work fine. Accumulative earth leak between all circuits...

    MAX Zs with 61009

Why do we have maxuim Zs for 61009 RCBO's? I didn't think Zs values really mattered if the circuit was covered by and 30mA RCBO/RCD?

    RCBO Type for Bathroom Lighting

Perhaps unwisely, I offered to source an RCBO for the spark who's coming to do a couple of small jobs in my bathroom: 1. Connect up an electric towel rail heater (IP65) 2. Replace the MCB for the bathroom lighting circuit with an RCBO, as a quick temporary fix to make the bathroom lighting a...

Previously working PV/Battery system starting popping RCBO when SMETS2 meter fitted

We had a PV/battery system was fitted in late May, and measurements showed it was working very well, but then a few weeks ago the old meter (electronic box about the size of a large cigarette packet) was replaced with a SMET2 meter and everything went down hill! When the PV system was working...

Only 2 brands for domestic type A rcd/rcbo + type 2 spd in board??

Looking around I'm wondering if I'm going mad. Would have thought type 2 spd next to main switch and type A (not type AC) rcd/rcbos would be the standard everyone should be looking for now (even if it's just recommended and not strictly required in domestics). But only Wylex and Schneider seem...

    SCHNEIDER RCBO

Fitted a new Schneider RCBO B20 30mA Single Pole Type A. Connected function earth and neutral lead, with rcbo turned off, turned slider on, turned rcbo on, tested operation of push button and it went kapot! Test button now stuck in and will not reset? Ideas anyone or just a faulty RCBO? Edit...

    RCBO tests

Anyone an idea why an RCBO measures >40ms on a 5x test on the second half of the sine wave but all other tests are within requirements? Sorry, it's not a single RCBO, there's 2 RCBOs in this board and both have similar results leading me to think not a faulty RCBO but an issue further upstream...

Recommend me a small CU with DP MCBs / RCBOs

I need to go shopping in the morning for a small metal CU, about 5 outgoing circuits, but they have to be fitted with DP OCPD including some C-type. One overall RCD is OK but if I can get suitable RCBOs that is a possible. It's so rare that I fit a small single-phase board, I've no idea which...

Memshield 2 RCBO's tripping when using two way radio's

We are going through a building (now unoccupied) to identify from old drawings and what circuit charts there are to prove what does what before safe isolation to do alterations and remove. We are doing this for the ground floor however the boards are in the roof area. To do this we are using 2...

    RCBO with Functional Earth Lead.

I have read somewhere, (but I can't locate the source), that because the RCBO's electronic control operates at a very slightly higher potential than earth, there is a very small leakage to earth through the functional earth lead. Is this correct or is my memory playing tricks?

    RCBO Tripping

Hi all, new here, looked over the forums and on google couldn’t find much Info. I have a consumer unit where the sockets, cooker and shower are protected by an RCBO. I had to replace to sockets with ones that have built in USB. So switched off the MCB for sockets (as you would) I would have...

Does this proteus RCBO fit this board?

Morning all.. As in the title does the RCBO below fit in the proteus board shown in the second picture. I'm sure it must do but I just wanted to be 100% sure before I turn up to the job. Also, in case I buy a different proteus RCBO, do they all fit this board? The reason I ask is because...

    RCBO trips different RCBO

I've just change a CU and installed RCBO's. There is a 32a SP RCBO suppling a ring final circuit. There is a 6a SP RCBO radial lighting circuit. When the 6a radial circuit is energised the 32a RCBO trips. With the 6a dead the 32a stays in. I expected to find a shared neutral but there is no...

Hello, I have been reading the topics on this forum which have been very helpful.
