Hi,

My college has sent me a letter to enroll for 17th edition C&G 2382 from Sept if I wish, but they also said that the 3rd amendment is coming into place from January 2015. I would like to ask that is it worth to do it now or wait for later? And if I do it now then do I HAVE to do the 3rd amendment in 2015 as well and pay for it another £400?

Thanks.

Another amendment :willy_nilly: does this mean there will be all new books like the bs7671 bgb, onsite guide, gn1-8 cos that will be a pain if it does, i bought the old red books just before the new ones came out so i had to re buy the green ones so i hope i don't have to buy more already haha

Are these updates really necessary so often??

The decision makers need to pause and think about the impact they are having......... on our pockets.

It's not their pockets well ok it's in their pockets and out of ours. The amendments do seem to be coming out quicker and quicker though!

It's a business, and they are making that business pay....

I bet they don't clear up any of the contradictions, mistakes and other anomalies within either!!

Why can't they go back to a loose leaf regs like the 16th edition so you only buy the updated pages they could probably do it for all their publications like the guidance notes etc to keep costs down

Not sure there is ever a good time to do a 17th edition course with the frequency of changes

Exactly, I also bought couple of months ago.
