Jaysus! might have to cook by candlelight when using the oven, very supply heavy and not suited to most domestic dwellings.

Just stick it on a bit of 6mm with a 32A MCB, it will be fine.

I'm sure it would be in normal use, but come Xmas it may warm the 32amp up a bit.

IMHO Manufacturers shouldn't be stating cable size. What's to say that rangemaster isn't installed at the other end of a mansion, 75m away and the cable runs through insulation most of it's route.

They'll have a "must be installed by a competent electrician to relevant regs" or something to that effect in there as well to cover themselves. Just find it daft they have stated cable size

I agree .............. but when did you last see any manufacturers instructions that gave out decent constructive advice?

FWIW I installed 10mm, even though it wasn't passing through any insulation!

If it is going in a domestic kitchen, with diversity applied a 40A supply should be fine. If my calculations are correct.

Some years back a mate called after Christmas to say his oven had tripped several times severely disrupting the prep of Xmas dinner. It had been installed following extensive refurbishment by the builders sparks on a 40a mcb and if I recall was a similar rating and model to this one. Since upping the mcb to 50a there have been no further oven related Christmas dramas, OP take note.

Was 10mm clipped direct under the plinth. DB was in one of the units on the same wall.
