Hi, when i moved into my house there was a pe-paid meter & found out that although these are no more expensive than the standard rate, you cant get the online discounts with one. So! i had to pay £50 to have it changed from a pre-paid econimy 7 meter to a normal E7 meter.
Now its three years later & we have removed the NS heating & gone for gas. So we worked out we would be better off on a normal meter but the company i am with (OVO) is saying i have to change the meter again??
Am i right in thinking that with my economy 7 meter i am charged by KW Hours & just sending the 2 readings is just a case of adding them together & charging me for the two readings added together with the new single tariff.
IE: 20 units off peak & 40 units Normal rate = 60 units x by lets say 13.00 pence = £7.80
Or do i have it wrong?

Thanks

Chris

afaik, you will pay less for what you use off peak, but more than standard rate for peak units.

In theory Yes.
But it depends on your electricity supplier, they may want to fit a new single rate meter, or even a smart meter.

Hi, thanks for the feed back. Its not the money side of getting it changed, its more that they cant leave the three year old meter & add it up. I think i will get it changed & then make them come & read the meter.
