Discuss Combi drill and prices!? in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net

I have always used Makita and am very happy with them. I have had the same drill for 2 years with medium use and nothing has gone wrong so far. The builder I work with swears by metabo which noone has mentioned. I do like the 5.2Ah batteries, they seem to last for a long time, plus they have a battery display on each of them which is very handy, no first hand experience of metabo though.

Completely depends on whether you are buying a stand alone drill or starting to base a set round the battery system.

I rate the Milwaukee M18 range but it's not the cheapest. My combi drill batteries are still good after 4 1/2 years though and take daily use/abuse, same as the drill, which has only had one cheap repair in that time.

I have the C18PD, at least 5-6 years old, I don't use it everyday, but the batteries are still very good and have only changed the motor brushes once.
It's very good.

Got a Dewalt DCD995N brushless bare drill on Ebay for about £100 and got the batteries , case & charger separate at good prices. Very pleased with it,the 3rd low gear is very useful for metal hole saws which I use a lot.
