hi guys

just been asked to have a look at a cooker tripping an rcd, its a split board single rcd.

she changed the element and didnt have any problems for a month. now all of a sudden the cooker is tripping the rcd after 10minutes of it been on.

any suggestions on what could be causing this, before she buys a new cooker?

cheers

Could still be the element (even tho fairly new), elements take a while to get to full working heat capacity and therefore can wait a little before thy trip, try an IR test on the element

sounds like another element has gone. you can IR it cold and it may show clear. with the back off the cooker, switch each element on one at a time till you find the one taheat's causing the problem. then with that element dissed, IR the bugger hot at 1000V.
