I've just been informed that Delta training have gone into liquidation.

I had an open portfolio doing the 2356. Liquidator has told me there is next to no assets and I'm set to lose my £800 fee.

Paid with a debit card so there's nothing I can do. A lot of money. All I can hope for now is if I can transfer to another training prover. I am enrolled with City and Guilds so hopefully they can sort something out. Does anybody know if its possible to complete the portfolio and send it off to guilds yourself?

delta training gone bust

anybody heard anything about this

im close to finishing my nvq with these but just got an email saying its gone bust but cant see nothing on net about this

Re: delta training gone bust

Maybe you can take a screen shot of the email and attach it? Who sent the email? Are you part way through a course with Delta Training?

i'm 96% Done and just found this out!!! Just noticed as well that you cannot enroll on this course after 31st december 2013. something needs to be sorted out soon!!

I am sure that you will have had the distressing news about DET. I got informed that the company had been Liquidated at 17:15 hrs on Monday 18th Nov 2013. This was a shock to me and I feel so sorry for all of you, who have worked hard on your NVQ.
As I was a contractor to DET, I am not involved, in any way with there operations and I am owed for work, that I have competed. This I will take up with the Liquidator, once I am in receipt of there correspondence. My understanding of the procedure is: 1. any company assets are sold; 2. creditors are paid, with the proceeds of the sale, with the Taxmen, having the first shout.

Obviously I will no longer log into OneFile, as I am no longer contracted to do so. Therefore I can't respond to anything that you may send me. There is also no point in ringing me as I can't tell you any more, than what I have said.

Where does this leave you? My advise is to speak to OneFile, as they may have other companies, doing the same as DET was and hence there may be a way forward there.

It's been so nice working with you all and thanks for that. Good bye.

I'm in the same boat unfortunately. I'm 87% complete, need to call one file to see what the next step is. I thought delta were a responsible company, maybe C & G will honour the work?

I received the same email yesterday.

I'm about 75% complete and just forked out £100 for regs and on-site guide so I could complete the four outstanding under-pinning knowledge sections.

I've already sent a message to Onefile and will post any answer here. I'll also try C&G later on today.

I'm resigned to having to pay some more money out to have the outstanding work assessed, but I sincerely hope that it's not a case of starting all over again.

Let me know how you get on, the problem is the course changes on the 31st Dec.
With us all being enrolled already with guilds I can't see the cut off point affecting us as we are already on the course. It's the cost to change over.

feel for you i lost my £4000 to ATL when they didnt fulfil their contract with me so whatever you do dont go to them as they are just after your money and dont care about you after that

Scumbags. They knew what they were planning to do when signing people up.
Cant believe it...got a message from phil....GUTTED....was really getting to grips with the whole onefile thing...its disgusting....i paid with a debit card natwest gold account gonna see where i stand....please please please if anyone knows of a remedy to this either another company or whatever please let me know....many thanks....

I'm in same boat, though to a lesser extent than some it seems. I've paid by Debit card, too. Not looking hopeful. Would love to get my hands on em.

I made some progress yesterday.

Onefile advised me to back up my portfolio to a zip file and try to find a new company to which I could transfer my registration. From a quick look at the XSTraining website (sponsors here), I had noticed that they also use the Onefile format, so I sent them an email explaining the situation and they replied quickly and were very helpful. (I can assure you - I am not being bribed to say that!)

C&G have acknowledged that it's totally beyond my control and are trying to help, but it turns out that Delta may have had other issues that I can't disclose here just yet.

So, I'm resigned to paying out more money to a company such as XS, in order to finish the course, but it's looking quite promising with regard to transferring my portfolio over to them.

I would be cautious about paying another similar provider, as the cut-off date is fast approaching and they will no longer be profiting, and might do exactly the same thing.

I appreciate your concern, but I still have a C&G registration for the 2356, so the cut-off date should be irrelevant for those of us with part completed portfolios.

The worrying issue is, in what form these portfolios will permitted to cross over to the new training/assessing company and what will the additional costs be to administer this process and assess the remaining sections?

I spoke toe onefile and they mentioned the same thing, I'll get onto XS, are they asking for extra £££?

Also had a letter in the post from debt reclaimers who are handling DET so will fill that in.

Will also have to dig out the receipt and see what card type I used, although most debit cards are VISA so I should have a case to claim my money back.

If you paid by debit card then VISA are in no way gonna help you out! This is another reason to do courses at proper colleges.....they tend not to go bust!

This kind of comment is just rubbing salt into the wounds. Some of us work mainly in the retail sector where attending a local college for 2/3/4 years on a given night is impossible. Believe me, I tried to do that twelve years ago and failed.

Speak to David Alexis at XS Training - he's been pretty helpful so far. I haven't discussed payment with him yet, but maybe if there's a few of us, the transfer of portfolios will work out to be less expensive.

Hi RDV,

please update how is your progress with XSTraining. It is intresting what they say.
I am going to contact them but the contacts they provide is email and address. That is strange. According to them the final date to enrole for course is 31st of December.

Thanks,

Re: Delta Training liquidation

I have been reliably informed by my nvq assessor that anyone registered with delta to complete the 2356 level 3 nvq will be
able to transfer thier portfolio over to a new company he is setting up. no need to re register with any other companies as
this will cost ££££s. Should know more by end of week but anyone thinking of registering with another training company
just hold out for now before parting with anymore money.

can somebody log on to onefile and see if there registered with c&g for this course i have been asked to find my register number but mine says not registered yet

intrested in the above though

I found out only this morning that Delta had gone bust. I was 88% complete and have most of the evidence to finish it. To say I'm gutted is an understatement. That's £750 il never see again. Does anyone know what's happening? I've spoke to Onefile and C and G but findng it difficult to find a company who's willing to take me on with the work I've currently completed. Don't fancy starting from scratch. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

I've just spoken to one of the assessors from delta training and was advised to wait until December the 9th, as he I trying to take on the chaps that are still doing the course, I have been advised that all is not lost yet, and await further information, as we all still have our registration numbers from City & Guilds.
Its all in the hands of the solicitors, Delta never even contacted me, all I received was a Txt from my assessor last week.

this is the third company I have signed up with that may have nicked my money.

5 parts left on my unit.

Spoke to XS training today and they are willing to take on any lads who have been affected.

David at XS has been very helpful and the likelihood is that any Delta learners would be able to carry over their registration .....

BUT.... XS Training's External Verifier (for C&G) has made it clear that the portfolios would need to be resubmitted in full, and from what David has seen of Delta's assessing, more evidence would need to be submitted for units that may have already been passed by Delta.

For now, it's just a matter of waiting to see what transpires at the creditors meeting.

Just received an email from XS and it's not the best news. Chances are we will need to have more evidence for jobs that have already been signed off by delta plus they're asking for £550. That's a hell of a hit chaps especially since most of us have already shelled out and lost the best part if £800.
Not sure what to suggest but thought I'd update you on what I know.

I would suggest waiting for news from this assessor before committing to XS Training. That is a lot of money, considering you have already paid for the course before. XS Training might declare bankruptcy themselves once the December 31st deadline comes, because their company predominantly only provide these courses.

As someone has suggested, it would be great if we could club together to get a reduced deal.

I would also add that unless you can complete this coursework in a very short amount time, I would hesitate to signup again.

spoke to xs training last night

his advice was to wait and see what happeneds after a meeting at delta with creditors on the 7th of december as there could be someone buying delta meaning we could just carry on doing nvq hopefully

he also mentioned deltas verifiers standards are below xs training meaning you may need more info and pictures on each units

I signed up to xs training just before I found out about delta training. I have total confidence in them. They are very helpful and they seem to know what they are doing. As for saying don't sign up to them because they might go bust next is a load of rubbish. Nobody knows what sort of trouble delta were in. I'm not saying this because I have given good money for the courses because the company I work for payed for it. If everybody had this attitude then no one would get on in life.

**##*^% Delta training!!

I'm absolutely gutted.. I havnt received any email and my final payment is due out this Friday for my level 3... Although I'm only 20% done I have most of the evidence at hand and was going to get a chunk done over Xmas. I also paid for the level 3 exams alongside the NVQ so therefore I'm in a position now where I need to pay for something similar.. I've paid 850 quid up to now!!
If anyone gets any information or gets in touch with onefile and they suggest anything please post it!! Thanks guys!!:(
