Hi guys
Just wondering about doing testing when not in a scheme.
So I'm fully qualified and also have my 2391-52 and have turned down quite a few side jobs of condition reports. However a few people have now said to me I can do them and use generic test forms and pass these on?? Is this correct?

What if you had no quals but was competent to carry out the tests and obviously not in a scheme ?.

Unless you are 100 percent confindent you are never going to make a mistake, and no fault is ever going to arise on an instalation you have tested, you will need to be able to prove that you were competent to carry out the tests.

Also, insurers would be unlikely to cover you for professional indemnity, unless you could prove to them that you were competent.

Cheers Shaun curious as I'm in that position and been doing electrics for over 30yrs now and pay a guy to test and cert for me .
I'm hoping to do course this year and do 18th , I've been trying to find some one for ages to spend few hours with and confirm all my testing is correct , I'd did 1 day a week for 3yrs at college but never took it any further and that was 30 yrs ago but just want confirmation rather than go sit inspection and testing and fail
