I do occasional soldering in my garage and would like to add extraction for the fumes.

I already have a Bathroom Extractor Fan Kit lying about (Fan, Ducting, Vent, DP Fan Switch etc) so looking to put them to use, my question is these are normally wired from the ceiling rose and use the S/L within that to activate the fan.

I would like to just have the Fan as its own separate circuit with a single On/Off switch, Does anyone see an issue to wiring the Fan up as follows..

Feed (3a FCU) Cable: 1.5mm Twin & CPC >> DP Switch (Live + Switched/Live Looped at the switch, fan side) Cable: 3 Core & CPC >> Fan

Happy for opinions and criticism :)

You only need a two core and cpc to the fan just fit a link across the two live terminals.

Thank you, another member has also suggested this, it does make sense now it has been said i was just thinking of using what materials i already have
