Discuss Freestanding electric cooker, induction hob problems. in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

I'm tempted by an induction cooker for my kitchen, but at heart I'm a bit of a Luddite. I'm the handsome one :) .

Impressive bits of kit for heating pans up quickly. My ideal hob would be induction plus a gas burner. The pans have to be flat on the induction hob to get good even heat. I have a large iron frying pan that I bought in the early 80’s when I was at Uni. Used for doing complete fry up in one go and cooking steaks in front of my vegetarian house mates :D Problem is that where it has taken more heat in the centre it has bowed out slightly. Ideal on a gas burner but doesn’t sit flat on an induction.
