Hi Guys,
I'm looking for a few people to answer this to give me a wider guide.
A fellow spark as been tasked with supplying a per metre price for 20mm Galvanised conduit installed.
So labour, conduit, bends, couplers, saddles, no cable though.
Its a genuine one where a customer as asked him but he mainly deals with fire although he is originally a yeb spark.
So come on lads how much would you charge as a per metre cost. This isn't for any one specific job so you have to consider some jobs will be a breeze and some could be a pig of a job.
Ive discussed a price with him but I don't want to sway anyone's opinion.

Impossible. It could be straight runs just clip and straight on. It could be bends all over the place. You couldn't average it out as a straight run job would be overly expensive and a complex job poorly paid. But if you said sq m. then I would go in at per 50 Sq m. £1000.

£6 to £8 per meter

and i agree with ipf below, i would put that as an estimate with a quote to follow if required.

There are too many factors involved, I agree. Besides bends, saddles, etc, there's also the situation. It could be really 'up in the air'......if it actually is at height.
I can't really see how you can quote with an 'area' method.
If you went in with an estimate, rather than quote, maybe an hour per length + mats, for starters, see how it goes. Have to be some leeway, though.

Divide it by 4.......per metre, maybe?

I'm all for 'standard pricing' and I use it wherever I can... but with something like galv... it can vary too much... and I don't do anywhere near enough of it to be able to derive a standard price. My pricing even factors in how far away I have to park the van !

I agree with all answer so far, I said the same to him that there were too many variables. He did give a price but I'll wait to see if anymore answers come forward.

Just spoke ti my dad who used to do lots and lots of metal containment on price , he reckons in today’s money £16 per mtr for 20 mm steel conduit...

Interesting thread this as I have the same dilemma. Need to run some conduit in a car park for an EV Charger. Trying to work out price per metre or overall price for containment. Got 2 sets and 3 bends. Got no idea of going rate per metre etc as the small amount of metal conduit I do install is usually a small part of a larger job.

Out of curiosity , have you ever known of a charger and fittings in this type of installation be stolen?
