I got a new "man lab" shed but it needs a bit of power, so, here's what I propose, put me right if you can please.

In my house I have a fusebox with the older type fuses (1980's) 4 fuses, 2 red & 2 white. If I replace this with a newer rcb type unit with an additional fuse (40amp) and use this as the start point, will I be ok?

In the shed, I would like to put a 3 way 30a rcb blah blah unit for two ring circuits and a lighting loop. Is this ok?

What cable spec should be used to connect the two boxes? (about 70Ft)
If I suspend the cable (20 ft Distance), is there a height restriction/ limit?

I have heard about Part P and will go with planning permissions unless someone here can help at a reasonable price. Northants NN8.

Thanks

C Low

I think that if you are serious about getting somebody in to do this, maybe update this thread in a day or two.
