inspection bend cover in outside plastic conduit - top or bottom?

I have some 20mm black pvc conduit fitted outside for data cables. Should the inspection covers on the inspection bends and elbows be on top or underneath to be waterproof?

Can't see you have a choice as there is usually support behind the bend. You should use a gasket either way.

Drill a small..(4mm-ish) drainage hole on the bottom whichever way you install it.

I think these were used as the boxes stick out much further on horizontal bends round the edge of a wall. Would these be fitted with the plate on top or underneath?

Ah, okay I get it now, I wouldn,t have a box of anykind there, I would have a bend around the wall from a spring and if the run was long a through box after the bend.

I agree with MDJ - use a bending spring & through box close by...
But if you have to absolutely use an inspection bend around the external corner of a building then personally I'd have the cover on the bottom
