To be fair (RE: value for money) it isn't actually dear at all. From memory it is roughly £35 for 3 years (if not employed by a JIB member company) for an ECS/JIB card. They obviously deal with a hell of a lot of enquiries and, as I understand it, have only a very small office staff.

The JIB's ECS card scheme may even be administered on a not-for-profit basis (although I haven't been able to verify that in a brief search now).
