Hi,

I have renewed a 3 phase - 12 way distribution board and have labelled the board according with test sticker, warning sticker etc.

I have also labelled the new board as per the previous label - DBPL1.

Should I label the existing SWA cable as well with the same label - DBPL1 ?

Does it fall under section 514 of the 18th edition or is it just deemed good practice?

Thanks

Spsrtafan

I'm not really sure what you are asking.
Do I need to label the SWA cable (On the outer sheath) that is terminated into the trunking that is mounted beside my new board.

I have a attached a picture. Do I need put a label above the gland, so in the future if anybody is carrying out maintenance, they can see that the SWA supplies the new DB.

Bonding cables in industry is my only example, which should be labelled (gas, water, structure, etc).
I can't see it being necessary in any other situation.

I would say it is good practice if there is any possibility of confusion, say more than one cable of similar appearance. Even if a one-off cable it does no harm and might just be useful for anyone who does not recognisance cable types (e.g. non technical owner, etc)
