Inside accessory or outside between coupler?

Are you on about the brass earthing washers for SWA glands?
If so them I have seen them fitted may ways.
Some on the outside with a bolt through the washer & enclosure.
Some fitted inside with a bolt through the washer & enclosure.
Some fitted inside the enclosure with the tab bent and a bolt through it.
Some fitted inside with a brass lockwasher either side of the washer.
As one of the guys at work would say "There are many ways of f****** a pig"... Not to be taken literally.

Lead washer between coupler and accessory, but it must be a flanged coupler.

I'd assume they are talking about the lead washer which comes with a flanged coupler.

In which case the answer is between the coupler and the enclosure as it is there to form a watertight seal.

Just been talking about SWA glands at work and had it stuck in my head.
