Hi Guys could really do with some advice on this one. I've been asked to quote to put a new landlord supply into a block of flats. At present there is one board feeding three individual blocks all attached with lights and one socket in each. I've quoted like for like but someone at Electricity northwest has said its regulation to have a meter and board for each Block. Not a regulation I've ever come across. Are they right or just trying to get extra meters in for the standing charges

Can you explain the setup a bit more please?

Does each block have its own incoming supply from the DNO?
How are the landlords final circuits installed between blocks?
How is the distribution to each flat installed?

If each block has a seperate feed from the DNO then there shouldn't circuits running between each block unless the earthing systems have beeninked according to DNO spec and with their permission.

From a BS7671 point of view it is very dodgy in my opinion, but I'd want full details before making a decision.

At the moment for the landlord supplies it has one board feeding all three blocks. Old council flats all conduit to one place. Utility company have put new feeds in to all the flats and are saying we need a landlord meter and board in each Block

Forgot to say the DNO have in there wisdom already put new feeds in to each Block and just said we need to get meters installed. It was and has been since it was built just on one supply
