Pulled into a customers driveway, lots of cars parked there, got a bit stuck trying to reverse out, Its a new van (Trafic) and much bigger than what I'm used to (and heavier!!!)! After 5 mins of getting nowhere a tiny spark of panic slipped in and I quickly popped over the huge lawn that was by no means well looked after, just an overgrown mass and escaped with a bit of a wheel spin at the end. Felt a bit bad, but didn't think too much about it!

Just had a phone call saying that a big yellow van has been seen on CCTV and was it me?

Obviously owned up straight away and going around tomorrow morning to do a bit of gardening with a very red face!! (and perhaps get some reversing lessons) :shame:

Thought you could all do with a bit of a laugh!

That's life, maybe reverse park next time!!

Yes, I had to learn quite a few new tricks when I first started driving a van. Now I always reverse into a driveway unless I know for sure that there's room to turn round. Also usually reverse into a parking space unless it's going to be difficult to unload that way.

Another one is always stopping at right angles to the main road at a T junction, even if the side road joins at an angle. Better to block the side road with the back of the van rather than have to pull out without being able to see properly.

Happens to us all, just that small moment of "this will be OK" followed by long term regret!
It will soon all be over with and the good will you show may mean you get called back, at least they will remember you!:speechless:

Don't be applying for your HGV test anytime soon :)
