Discuss Oven switch isolator is missing, C2 on EICR in the Electricians Jobs area at ElectriciansForums.net

This electrician job is going for grabs, please don't post contact details in this area of the forum. Use the forum messaging system instead.
One of the reasons why I use these forums, is to improve my understanding of the Regulations.
Another reason is to help others improve their understanding.
Now I may have an incorrect understanding of a Regulation and someone may disagree with me.
But a simple disagree or dumb rating is no use to me or to anyone else.
It needs an explanation.
I can’t learn if no one is willing to explain why I’m wrong, neither can anyone else.

^^ hit , nail and head spring to mind

Of late I have been challenging people to state why they give me a disagree or dumb with out posting

And I have been explaining my reasoning for giving such feedback .....

The disagree/dumb button needs to go - if not just to calm you down @spinlondon!
People would verbalise their disagree/dumb if no button available .

The MCB on the Cooker circuit could be classed as an Isolating switch, I am not 100% on this one so have kept quiet thus far, however I believe a local isolator for a socket with an appliance plugged into it is not mandatory, please speak up if I am wrong here.

Lets have a Muppet button, thats my view :D

Which one though?

HAHA, well pick me one hehe

I probably would not code it - certainly not a C2 anyway.

With talk of whether the means of isolation is mandatory - I know that if I was to install any integrated appliance in a kitchen tomorrow without ‘reasonable access’ to isolation, then I’m pretty sure my local BCO would not accept it. They are pretty keen on that round here - not even accepting a SFU in the back of an adjacent cupboard.....

That idea of ‘you can isolate at the CU’ does not seem to fly....

Funny how a lot of Pubs are wired straight from the MCBs to sockets and lights without switches and it gets certified and passed.
