Does anyone use any available literature to help with pricing work? If so what is it?

Or do most peeps go with standard prices. eg £60 per point etc.

Domestic work

Spons pricing guide is one, I couldn't get it to work for me, I look at every job individually and on its own merits or problems, most of my work now is on day work because I've got a good regular customer base, approx £30 p h and 20% min on materials

Time and time again, these posters don't give a clue as to where they are, location matters, so we might as well be pxssing in the wind.

I have spons and luckins books .i use it more as a check for stuff I don't do everyday really.
last time I used to check the install time for a basket system I was going to install.i priced 10 hours. And luckins came in at 9 ish hours.
bill of quantities I've worked out rates for most things
i price different jobs different ways as I've a good idea how long it will take me for 95% of my jobs I might just price it time and materials.
newbuilds I price per point
the black art of pricing indeed
