Hi all.

Does anyone have any experience / opinions - good or bad - of the Socket & See range of test instruments?

I remember when I was a kid there used to be a toy manufacturer called Chad Valley. The pictures of these Socket & See instruments somehow remind me of the Chad Valley toys, but I would be grateful to hear your views.

I used them in my 2nd year at college.
They're alright.
Basic testers without the bells and whistles, which means you can just pick them up and use them without having to read the instruction manual, which is probably why they use them at college. I would imagine they're quite robust.

our local whole saler had a load of 16edd test kits (seperates) on special offer and the firm I worked with at the time bought 5 sets for the guys on the ground(ie not the testing guys) to use as they installed things so they could energise and the reports back were great easy to use and fairly robust even though they were only£50 for the 3 instruments( told you a VERY SPECIAL Offer) i have seen 17th edd Part P kit for sale around 450

Possibly PM or phone test meters (a forum sponser number on right ) and ask their opinion as to how many returns ect they have had

the reliant robin of test gear, or is it lada

Phase rotation, is just the order that the 3 phase cables are in.
Would be used to ascertain that all socket-outlets on a 3 phase installation are in the same order.
Might be usefull if somewhere has machines that get moved around and they are plugged into different socket-outlets regularly.
