SSE has lost an appeal into a conviction for tricking potential customers into switching from their existing energy firm.

SSE's sales agents had used misleading sales scripts when talking to people on their doorsteps, between September 2008 and July 2009.

SSE said it was "disappointed" with the result:

It's the same story repeated again and again and again, just add a different company name each time.
It seems to be the way things are done these days, even the company response of "disappointed" is an unimaginative cliche churned out by a lame PR department.

When ever I let an energy "sales person" talk to me they are full of bxxxsxxx. If you as the consumer know how much your costs and consumption are they are completelt stumped. They prey on those who don't know.
