Hey guys!!

Sorry if this is well worn territory but i can't find in the sticky threads the info i'm looking for so any help would be much appreciated.

Spent the last few months working on a hospital as an Electrician's Mate/Improver through an agency but unfortunately work has dried up and i was let go on friday. Last in, first to go scenario!!

I've been thinking it might be best if I offer my services as a subby. Was just wondering what i need to do to do this? How do i go about getting a CIS card and where do i get it from? My impression is if i get offered work, we discuss a rate and invoice them accordingly on a weekly/fortnightly basis.

Also, on a more frustrating level, I was hoping to do my NVQ 3 but I need a permanent employer to do this. Bearing in mind the impending cut off and the obvious fact that firms are not really taking on, what do you think are my best options? (I've already got my 2330 and 17th edition)

Many thanks in advance
Cheers
Conor
